She lives in a stone barn converted to a picturesque cottage in the heart of County Down, just outside Belfast, in Northern Ireland, has four grown up children and is married to singer/songwriter and media producer, Raymond McCullough, with whom she co-edited the Irish magazine, ‘Bread’, (published by Kingdom Come Trust), from 1990-96. In 1995 they also published a non-fiction book called, ‘Ireland – now the good news!’
Over the past few years Gerry has had around 140 short stories published in UK, Irish and American magazines, anthologies (12) & annuals – as well as broadcast on BBC Radio Ulster – with poems and articles also published in several Northern Ireland, UK & online magazines.
Her success in winning the Cúirt International Literary Award for 2005 (Galway); being shortlisted for the 2008 Brian Moore Award (Belfast); commended in the 2009 Seán O’Faolain Short Story Competition, (Cork); and her success on HarperCollins’ Authonomy.com site; opened up the opportunity for the publication of her full-length Irish novel, ‘Belfast Girls’ – in November 2010.

Since then she has authored a total of twelve novels (one a young adult time travel novel, one an adult fantasy novel), but mostly of the romantic suspense variety. She has also released eight collections of Irish short stories, including The Seanachie series ('Tales of Old Seamus'), with more to come!
