![]() Norah on the Beach and other stories - book reviews (2)
Another wonderful collection of tales from author Gerry McCullough and that whimsical Donegal village of Ardnakil. I loved these gentle stories laced with Irish humour. ‘Peacemakers’, The tale of the two ladies who were sworn enemies until a lost child brought them together, and ‘Charlie Fogarty’,s Problem’, about the handsome village doctor who is relentlessly pursued by a bevy of ladies, were particularly funny, and there are so many more of equal merit, culminating in the title story ‘Norah on the Beach’, where a little matchmaking takes an unexpected turn. Like the first collection, this one is very well written and an effortless read. It’s easy to become immersed and very hard not to read straight through in one go. A delightful, entertaining read, from an accomplished author, that I absolutely recommend.
